Through Performance Learning, Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ’s Athletic Training Program provides a real-world education for students studying to become certified athletic trainers. Using both hands-on experiences and classroom instruction, the program equips students with the knowledge and skills necessary for success. Our students excel on the Board of Certification (BOC) examination and find success in a wide range of positions in Athletic Training and related allied health fields.

Plan of Study

Overview

Students interested in an athletic training career can earn their Master of Science in Athletic Training (MSAT) at Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ in one of two ways:

1. Students entering Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ as undergraduates can complete the first three years of the Exercise Science major, before beginning the MSAT in their fourth year. Students on this path earn their MSAT in five academic years rather than the traditional six.  

2. Students who earn undergraduate degrees in exercise science, athletic training or a related field at another university can earn their MSAT through two years of coursework at Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ.

As an athletic trainer, you will be a qualified allied health care professional. Your education and experience will include the prevention, evaluation, rehabilitation, protection and management of health care problems associated with diverse populations. In cooperation with physicians and other allied health care personnel, the athletic trainer functions as a vital link between all spheres of physical activity and the medical community. Athletic trainers are employed in a variety of settings, including:

  • Health & Rehabilitation Clinics
  • High Schools & Universities
  • Youth & Professional Sports
  • Performing Arts & Business

At Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ University, under the guidance and supervision of a team of certified athletic trainers, you will hone your skills for the prevention, evaluation, management and rehabilitation of injuries that occur in athletes, as well as active and general populations.
