Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ University is a private, comprehensive university with a diverse student population of both undergraduate and graduate students. A Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ education features Performance Learning, a unique learning approach offered only at Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ that gives students the chance to build the confidence and skills to succeed both before and after graduation. Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ offers more than 50 majors in the College of Fine Arts, College of Arts & Sciences, College of Professional Studies and Tabor School of Business.

Founding

Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ was founded in 1901 by , a prominent Decatur, Ill., businessman. The University is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (USA).

Location

Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ is located on a 75-acre campus in , a metropolitan area of 70,000 residents. Decatur is close in proximity to three of the largest job markets in the United States β€” Chicago, St. Louis and Indianapolis are all within a three-hour driving distance β€” and is home to both Fortune 100 and small businesses alike.

Academic Year

Our academic year is divided into fall and spring semesters, with immersion courses also available during the standard winter and summer breaks.

Student Body

Approximately 1,800 undergraduate students and 90 graduate students call Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ University home. The male-to-female ratio is 42% male and 58% female.

Class Size and Faculty Information

One of Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ’s strengths comes from our small class sizes and faculty who are unrivaled in terms of their commitment to being accessible to students. Our average class size is 16 students, and we have a student-to-faculty ratio of 10:1.

Accreditation

Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ University has been accredited by what is now known as the since 1914. The University also boasts several programs that hold discipline-specific accreditations, including music, exercise science and sport, nursing and business. At Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ, 99.4% of graduates gain employment or enter graduate or professional school within six months of graduation. Nearly 90% of our students secure careers within their fields of study.

Student Engagement

Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ University believes that while the importance of academics cannot be overstated, the collegiate experience is comprised of much more. Global Impact

At Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ, we are committed to preparing students for lives that demonstrate democratic citizenship in a global environment. Our Center for International Education plays an instrumental role in that preparation by providing students with diverse study abroad options, both in terms of short-term immersion travel and semester-long study opportunities. Additionally, our international student presence at Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ is experiencing rapid growth. More than 100 international students representing more than 35 countries are continuing their education here.
