DECATUR, Ill. β ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ University is opening its doors to Iowa Wesleyan University students affected by the recent closure of the institution announced on March 28, 2023.
ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ University is announcing a tuition match for undergraduate and graduate students at Iowa Wesleyan who choose to transfer to ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ.
"Our hearts go out to all those who have been affected by the closure of Iowa Wesleyan. When small colleges or universities close, it's a loss for us all in higher education and diminishes our ability to serve all students in the ways in which they thrive,β ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ President Jim Reynolds said. βAs part of our desire to help those affected students at Iowa Wesleyan, we have created the where students from Iowa Wesleyan can transfer to ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ with no additional out-of-pocket costs for tuition."
Under the "IW Match," students transferring to ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ will pay the same amount of tuition to ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ that they would have paid at Iowa Wesleyan for the coming academic year. Transferring students will be eligible to lease available housing through ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ University and are also eligible for transfer grants and/or scholarships. Additionally, Iowa Wesleyan students who transfer to ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ with senior-year status may also be eligible for existing housing discounts.
To be considered for the , students should submit the free ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ University application for admission at millikin.edu/apply.
Students should also submit official transcripts from all previously attended colleges and universities from which transfer credit may apply. Unofficial transcripts may be used to initiate the admission process, but official transcripts will be required in order to register for the first semester of study at ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ University.
For International students, in addition to the items listed above, they should send a copy of their passport, I-20 transfer form and proof of funding for one year of study at ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ University to international@millikin.edu.
ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ University will work with each Iowa Wesleyan student one-on-one so that the path to degree completion is clear and understood. Representatives from ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ's Office of Admission will follow up with students individually to discuss a study plan and timeline for completing their degree at ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ.
