Dr. Nancy J. Curtin appointed as interim dean of the College of Arts and Sciences

    At the end of the Spring 2022 academic term, Dr. Nancy J. Curtin, professor and chair of the Communication Department was appointed as interim dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at 鶹Լ University. She is taking the place of Dr. Randy Brooks, who has served in the position since 2010, and as acting dean from 2008-2010. Dr. Brooks, is also a professor of English within the College of Arts and Sciences and is well-known around campus for his haiku classes, is retiring following nearly 20 years at 鶹Լ University.

Dr. Curtin will serve in this capacity for the 2022-2023 academic year during the search process for a candidate to fill the position. In the announcement to 鶹Լ’s campus community,

provost Mary Black said that Dr. Curtin “has proven herself time and again as an effective leader and trusted colleague.”

 

Dr. Curtin has served on 鶹Լ University’s faculty since 1997 and was the recipient of both the Dr. Ralph A. Czerwinski Teaching Excellence Award and the Dr. Deborah L. Slayton Campus Leadership Award during this year’s Honors Convocation. She teaches several courses in the Communication Department, including Gender Communication and Organizational Communication.
