RJ Podeschi, Interim Dean, is also an Associate Professor of Information Systems and Chair of the Tabor School of Business. RJ’s teaching specialties include courses in database and security with research interests in computing education pedagogy and business intelligence. RJ serves on the editorial review board for the Information Systems Education Journal and has multiple publications on information systems pedagogy. Prior to his full-time teaching appointment in 2012, RJ served his alma mater (Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Class of 2002, MBA Class of 2004) for 11 years in a variety of IT developer, administrative, and leadership roles; primarily focused on enterprise systems and IT infrastructure. He is also the former founder and owner of an IT consulting firm, which has fueled his passion for starting and running MU Performance Consulting, a student-run IT consulting venture. RJ holds a Master’s of Science in Management Information Systems from the University of Illinois, an MBA as well as a Bachelor’s in Management Information Systems from Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ. RJ has served as a director at Staley Credit Union for 14 years, and is chair of the finance committee at Sharon United Methodist Church in Decatur. In what little free time is left, RJ enjoys playing tennis, traveling when able, cooking, and landscaping/gardening.
I am energized by having the ability to share my real-world experiences with students and tie it into the theoretical material has made learning relevant to students. Through hands-on, practical experience with client projects in the community, It is my hope that students gain the skills and confidence they need when entering the professional IT market upon graduation.
